Standing at the juncture of furthering my academic and professional path, I am captivated by the Master's program in Computer Science and Technology at Donghua University, driven by a deep-seated passion to delve into the computing world. My name is Farhad Hossen, and my background is a mosaic of academic achievements and hands-on experiences in technology and innovation. From my academic pursuits in Bangladesh, where I laid a solid foundation in technical knowledge, to my entrepreneurial venture in mobile phone accessories, showcasing my knack for identifying and leveraging technology trends, my journey has been one of continuous learning and application. This journey has not only honed my technical skills but also instilled in me a commitment to contributing positively to the tech community. With this spirit of exploration and ambition, I am eager to join Donghua University's esteemed program, aiming to deepen my technical expertise and explore innovative computing solutions that address real-world challenges.

Background:

Right after I completed my Bachelor's in Business Administration, my career path took its first step forward. I started off in an entry-level role, working as an Office Assistant. This job was my first window into the business world, where I learned the ropes of managing daily operations and the value of being tech-savvy in today's digital era. Not long after, I transitioned into a more challenging role as an Accountant at Ongko Computer. Here, my knack for numbers and strategic planning came to the forefront, allowing me to contribute significantly to financial decision-making processes. The real game-changer in my career, however, was when I took on the role of General Manager at Muntaha Corporation in May 2022. Stepping into this position, I embraced the challenge of leading the company towards growth, all while prioritizing sustainability. We started adopting green practices, making a considerable impact on reducing our carbon footprint. This role was more than just a job; it was a platform that allowed me to demonstrate my leadership capabilities, my ability to make strategic decisions, and my commitment to fostering an innovative and responsible business environment. Parallel to my corporate journey, I ventured into entrepreneurship. I saw an opportunity in the mobile phone accessories market and seized it, establishing a part-time business importing goods from China to sell locally. This side hustle was not just about extra income; it was a valuable learning experience. It taught me about the intricacies of international trade, deepened my understanding of market trends, and consumer behavior, and tested my resilience in balancing multiple responsibilities. This venture was a testament to my ability to spot opportunities, negotiate effectively, and adapt to the ever-changing market demands. These experiences have been instrumental in shaping my business perspective and have prepared me for the next step in my journey: pursuing an MBA. I am eager to dive into the global business strategies and innovative management practices that the program offers, ready to apply my learned lessons on a larger scale.

Interest and Future Goals:

My drive to pursue a Master's in Computer Science and Technology stems from an eagerness to lead in the realm of technological innovation and development. Donghua University, recognized for its excellence in computer science, stands as an ideal platform for achieving this goal. Given China's prominence as a global technology hub, the opportunity to study here offers unparalleled exposure to cutting-edge technological practices and advancements. This setting is perfect for diving deep into computing, where the curriculum and the university's connections with top IT firms will enhance my skills in software engineering, data science, and information security. I am excited to learn from esteemed faculty, collaborate with a diverse group of students, and contribute to the field of computer science, aiming to develop solutions that address global challenges and advance the frontier of technology.

Year 1: Core Foundations

Semester 1 & 2: I will dive into the core Computer Science curriculum, focusing on software engineering, data structures, algorithms, and systems programming. I plan to participate in coding workshops and tech seminars to enhance my practical skills. Engaging with faculty and fellow students will be a priority, aiming to gain diverse insights into the latest computing trends and technologies.

Year 2: Specialization and Research

Semester 3: I will choose electives that deepen my expertise in areas such as artificial intelligence, data science, and information security, aligning with my professional interests. This semester will also mark the beginning of my research project or thesis, leveraging Donghua University's resources and my professors' guidance to explore innovative solutions in computing. 

Semester 4: Completing my research project or thesis will take precedence, with the goal of contributing new knowledge to the field of computer science. I will also focus on building my professional network, attending job fairs, and preparing for my career post-graduation.

Throughout my Master's program, I will seek internships and collaborative projects that complement my studies, ensuring that my academic learning is reinforced by real-world application. This balanced approach will prepare me for a successful career in the tech industry, equipped with both the theoretical foundations and practical experiences necessary to thrive.

Conclusion:

Reflecting on my journey toward a Master's in Computer Science and Technology at Donghua University, I see a path that has not only prepared me for the challenges of advanced study but also fueled my ambition to innovate within the tech landscape.
