Klaipėda State University of Applied Sciences (KVK)

I am writing to express my interest in joining the Bachelor of Dental Hygiene program at Klaipėda State University of Applied Sciences (KVK). Growing up in Bangladesh, I witnessed how oral health is often neglected, leading to severe consequences for individuals and families. This reality became deeply personal when my mother faced significant oral health challenges due to a lack of awareness and access to preventive care. Witnessing her struggles inspired me to take action and fueled my determination to pursue a career where I can make a meaningful difference by promoting oral health awareness and providing care to those in need. After completing my Higher Secondary Certificate in 2019, my journey to higher education faced significant challenges, including the loss of my brother and my own battle with COVID-19. Despite these setbacks, I remained committed to my goals and gained valuable skills through professional experiences. These experiences have strengthened my resolve to pursue t...

The spark for my passion in people management first ignited during my university years, when I served as treasurer and executive member of our business club. Organizing events, recruiting members, and coordinating teams gave me a taste of the energy and connection that comes with leading people. Yet, while I instinctively enjoyed these roles, I didn’t realize then just how deeply this calling ran. That realization struck me later, in an intense moment of transition when I was handed the responsibility of leading an entire department after my immediate boss suddenly departed. With no formal training in human resources, I found myself in uncharted waters. Overnight, I became the go-to person for resolving team disputes, aligning project goals, and managing a complex web of stakeholders, each with their own perspectives and priorities. Relying on intuition and a genuine commitment to my colleagues, I guided the team through this period of uncertainty. It was during these high-stakes...

My journey toward a research-driven career in infectious diseases began during my undergraduate studies when I attended a lecture by Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam, a pioneer in Peste des Petits Ruminants Virus (PPRV) research in Bangladesh. His perseverance in overcoming research challenges to isolate the virus and develop cell culture techniques inspired me to explore the intricate dynamics of host-pathogen interactions. This formative experience sparked my passion for zoonotic and viral pathogens and their impact on animal and human health. The Ph.D. program in Microbiology at Colorado State University (CSU), with its emphasis on innovative research and interdisciplinary collaboration, provides an ideal environment for me to advance my expertise and achieve my aspirations. My academic foundation in veterinary science and pathology has equipped me with the skills and knowledge necessary for advanced research in infectious diseases. During my Master’s program, under the supervision of Dr....

Chemical and Biochemical Recycling of Post-Consumer Textile Waste  Introduction: The rise of fast fashion has drastically increased textile waste, much of which  ends up landfilled or incinerated, harming the environment. The mixed composition of mate- rials, such as cotton and polyester, complicates recycling due to limited sustainable technologies. This initiative seeks to develop chemical and biochemical methods like hydrothermal liquefaction and enzymatic hydrolysis to recover valuable products, ensuring minimal environmental impact through lifecycle assessments and scalable pilot trials to support a circular economy. Additionally, this approach aims to address the growing demand for sustainable solutions in the textile industry, reducing dependency on virgin raw materials. By integrating innovative recycling processes, the project aspires to mitigate resource depletion while con- tributing to global sustainability goals. Furthermore, it underscores the importance o...

Throughout my academic journey, I have been driven by an insatiable curiosity about the world around me. During my Higher Secondary studies in science, I became deeply interested in understanding not just natural phenomena, but also the complexities of human behavior. Observing the interplay of diverse yet universal human traits, such as love, anger, and social inequalities — sparked questions about their origins and persistence across time. A transformative moment that crystallized my academic aspirations was watching The Pursuit of Happyness. Chris Gardner’s philosophy of seeking answers to unknown questions deeply resonated with me. I realized that my questions about human behavior and societal structures could best be explored through research. This realization, combined with my passion for finding actionable insights, inspired my transition to sociology—a field that allows me to analyze human behavior, seek answers through research, and apply knowledge to drive societal improvemen...

Cricket as a Bridge and Barrier in India-Pakistan Relations: Exploring Sports Diplomacy Post-1999 Research Question How has cricket functioned both as a diplomatic bridge and as a source of tension between India and Pakistan since 1999? To answer this, I will also need to investigate: 1. What roles have individual cricket matches played in influencing political relations between India and Pakistan? 2. How has the concept of “cricket diplomacy” evolved in response to the political climate? 3. In what ways has cricket fueled nationalist sentiment within each country, and how does this impact cross-border relations? Overview of the Topic and Knowledge Gap Crick’s (2009) study presents cricket as a tool of multi-track diplomacy between India and Pakistan, highlighting its potential to influence both high-level political interactions and popular perceptions between these nations. Despite extensive literature on Indo- Pak cricket diplomacy, there is limited exploration of how public an...
