As I stand on the precipice of furthering my academic and professional journey, I am drawn to the Master of Business Administration program at Shanghai Jiaotong University, motivated by a fervent desire to study the intricacies of business administration. My name is Farhad Hossen, and I bring with me a tapestry of experiences that span across various facets of business and social responsibility. From my early days as a dedicated student in Bangladesh, achieving commendable grades in business studies, to steering Muntaha Corporation as its General Manager, I have consistently pursued excellence and innovation. My journey is not just a narrative of academic and professional milestones; it is a testament to my relentless pursuit of learning, growth, and a deep-seated commitment to making a meaningful impact in the business world. It is with this spirit of inquiry and ambition that I aspire to embark on the MBA program, seeking not only to enrich my understanding and skills but to contribute a unique perspective shaped by my diverse experiences and insights into sustainable and ethical business practices.

Background:

Right after I completed my Bachelor's in Business Administration, my career path took its first step forward. I started off in an entry-level role, working as an Office Assistant. This job was my first window into the business world, where I learned the ropes of managing daily operations and the value of being tech-savvy in today's digital era. Not long after, I transitioned into a more challenging role as an Accountant at Ongko Computer. Here, my knack for numbers and strategic planning came to the forefront, allowing me to contribute significantly to financial decision-making processes. The real game-changer in my career, however, was when I took on the role of General Manager at Muntaha Corporation in May 2022. Stepping into this position, I embraced the challenge of leading the company towards growth, all while prioritizing sustainability. We started adopting green practices, making a considerable impact on reducing our carbon footprint. This role was more than just a job; it was a platform that allowed me to demonstrate my leadership capabilities, my ability to make strategic decisions, and my commitment to fostering an innovative and responsible business environment. Parallel to my corporate journey, I ventured into entrepreneurship. I saw an opportunity in the mobile phone accessories market and seized it, establishing a part-time business importing goods from China to sell locally. This side hustle was not just about extra income; it was a valuable learning experience. It taught me about the intricacies of international trade, deepened my understanding of market trends, and consumer behavior, and tested my resilience in balancing multiple responsibilities. This venture was a testament to my ability to spot opportunities, negotiate effectively, and adapt to the ever-changing market demands. These experiences have been instrumental in shaping my business perspective and have prepared me for the next step in my journey: pursuing an MBA. I am eager to dive into the global business strategies and innovative management practices that the program offers, ready to apply my learned lessons on a larger scale.

Semester 1 & 2: I will immerse myself in the core MBA curriculum, focusing on finance, marketing, operations management, and sustainable business practices. By participating in workshops and seminars, I aim to broaden my understanding of global business trends. I plan to engage closely with faculty and peers, enriching my learning experience with diverse perspectives.

Year 2: Deepening Expertise and Professional Growth

Semester 3: My focus will shift to electives that focuses on sustainable business practices and international trade, aligning with my entrepreneurial experiences and aspirations. I will initiate a research project or thesis in one of these areas, leveraging the university's resources and faculty expertise for in-depth exploration.

Semester 4: Completing my research project or thesis will be my priority, aiming to propose innovative solutions to contemporary business challenges. Concurrently, I will prepare for my post-MBA career through strategic networking with industry professionals and participation in job fairs organized by the university.
